I see yet another "Photo/Glamour Shot" of the ONLY crew represented in all of our department..none other than House of Mouse 72!! I think we all have seen enough of these guys....Jesus Christ already! on this site....on the NEW union web site...You know there is OTHER stations out here. How about using OTHER people for Christs sake..

Fellas, This is gettin old..Over the years we see it come and go. However the one thing that is the most hated is being arrogant with no brotherhood. If you dont like seeing the god squad, send in your own pictures and maybe they will be put in. FYI, I am not stationed on the west side. So send in your pictures, and maybe some day when you grow up you can be Johhny Gage MAYBE, JUST MAYBE,CHUMPS

As always, good job on the site, Joe.
I want to make one simple point regarding "The Brotherhood". It's amazing to me to hear and see how disrespectful and arrogant some of our so-called "Brothers" can be to each other. The same people who are on hear making ignorant comments about their brothers are the same people I look out for, day after day, and that I expect to have my back and send me home, and in one piece, to my family after every shift. Have you forgotten what the brotherhood is all about.

First of all, and I am not ashamed to admit, this past year I have been no model of perfection when it comes to showing pride. I don't make it to union meetings every month like I should and I wouldn't move to Osceola but, there are many reasons why and many more reasons why I am making changes to that. I do, however, believe we all understand why it's not easy to get into our brotherhood. You have to earn the respect and trust of your crew. As a rookie, you can't expect to come into a tight knit family, like some crews have, and automatically have the respect and trust it takes in this profession. That trust and respect comes with time and effort. Each and every call you run brings you closer and closer together as a crew. Second, regardless whether you dislike someone you work with; talking about each other like middle-schoolers only demeans what our brotherhood is all about. We are a fairly new department in the broad scope of things, and because we are newer, we (most of us) are starving for any OUNCE of tradition we can have. Lastly, don't get me wrong, there are many of you who DO take a lot of pride in our department and it shines through. It makes me proud when 9 times out of ten, if there is a special ops class going on at the Fire Academy then more than half the class is Osceola guys. Showing that we strive to continually learn and develop our knowledge and skills sets us miles above those departments that just sit stagnant. I believe we are slowly becoming known as one of the most elite departments in the state. Becoming elite takes time, tradition, pride and what we seem to be losing, BROTHERHOOD.

Give it some thought, we can either take this job and our department to a different level or slam each other every chance we get just because you "see yet another "Photo/Glamour Shot" of the ONLY crew represented in all of our department" was put up instead of your's. So what, good for them! At least they're showing their face and their pride. I for one, will continue to expand my knowledge because I understand what it takes.

I commend those of you who take the time to instill in our rookies "what it takes to be in the brotherhood".

..just my $.02 for what it's worth.

Great Job Joe. We are glad to call you one of our owm!

Hay what kind of step plan do you guys have in Osceola County? What is starting pay? With "some" local departments near you, (Orange County),refusing to pay their firefighters a fair wage, you may very well have a lot more 10 year plus veterans as proud rookies at your door step. Thanks, I'll check back for the info.

Joe, I will be assisting in The year book project. Is there anyway we can GET A POLL to see if anyone is interested in buying the 20th anniversary ,to see how many need to be ordered?

Wow, I went thru and read all the blogs and to this day, it still looks likes there are so many problems there..No brotherhood, to many chiefs, to much back stabbing, the clicks.....

I am so glad that I quit and went on to a bigger and better place were we all look out for each other and dont have to worry about all this...trash..as I would call it.
