Union Emergency Firefighters Fund

An idea was recently brought to my attention in regards to starting a emergency fund for our own firefighters. The intention is for when one of use falls on hardship when something life effecting takes place such as your home A/C breaks and your spouse and kids are without until you can come up with the money or a tree falls thru your roof and you need some money to get enough supplies to dry in your house so you can stay there. This idea came with a suggested contribution of $5 per month per member which I am sure everyone can afford even in these hard time. Think of it as a "sick bank" of money for just the members of 3284. I am sure there are many details to work out and please feel free to post here or email your union rep. Just an idea to help protect US in these hard times.
